Temperature detection technology using AI face recognition devices provides highly secure entrance control and will protect the health of employees.

SoftBank Corp.

SoftBank has installed 20 AI Thermography Solution devices at the entrance gates of its Shiodome head office, where approximately 15,000 employees work. The temperature detection technology uses AI face recognition devices which enable a highly secure and controlled facility entrance.

A key feature is that the face recognition and the temperature detection can be performed simultaneously in under 0.5 seconds. If a non-employee tries to pass through the gate, the gate does not open. If the device detects a temperature of 37.5℃ or higher, the entrance will be restricted and an alarm will sound. Even when you are wearing a mask, the AI can accurately identify your face so that you can get through without any problem. SoftBank is working to protect the health of its employees through the "SenseThunder" AI Thermography Solution from Japan Computer Vision Corp. (JCV).

This solution will also be introduced at SoftBank's new headquarters, which have been designed as a model case for Smart Buildings and will play a role in creating more innovative and creative ways of working.

About Smart Buildings

By installing many cameras and IoT sensors inside and outside building, such as in terraces, free spaces, and other common areas, we can predict entrance congestion. This will enable us to suggest the optimal commuting time for employees. The restaurant use case can generate congestion information inside and outside the building to develop measures to attract customers, such as discount services during quieter periods. This will help create a comfortable environment and efficient building management.
